Teeworlds is a cartoonish shooter with a big emphasis on multiplayer. Graphically, the game resembles the Worms game, with cartoon characters and environments (maps). Also, the sounds of the game made me think of Worms. Gameplay-wise, Teeworlds does without the turn-based approach found in Worms to give players a more intense and action-packed fun.
You control a tee, whose only goal is to kill as many enemies as possible within a given time frame. I jumped into a multiplayer game when I first tried this game. And action was quick to come. I think I was killed in less than a second. But I learned to keep always moving while playing.
You start with a basic gun, which has unlimited ammo. You can then pick up random weapons all around the map. You will be smart if you don't stop on a single spot for long, though. With the left click of your mouse you can shoot your weapon, and with the right one, you use a sort of climbing hook (like the one in Worms). The spacebar will make your tee jump.
The game is all about staying on your toes and jumping around to avoid incoming projectiles and weapon fire. Although the game is really simple, it is pure fun. There are multiplayer servers from all over the world, so you can find someone with a good ping to you quite easily. Teeworlds is free and cross-platform.
